コードギアス 亡国のアキト 第3章「輝くもの天より堕つ」
Directed by Kazuki Akane
Synopsis
After discovering the face of their true enemy, someone who is related to Akito and responsible for the Geass placed upon him, W-0 attempts to return to their base at Castle Weisswolf. However, stranded in Warsaw due to a complication involving their military identification, they are forced to accept the help of local gypsies, allowing the squad to take some time to deepen their bonds. Meanwhile, Britannian advisor Julius Kingsley and his guard Suzaku Kururugi begin working together with the Knights of St. Michael in order to crush the European resistance once and for all, armed with the destructive power of a giant weapon known as the Ark Fleet.

Not much of anything happens in this one which is why it’s the best one by far. It remembered that the secret spice that makes this series work is that it’s dumb.

Somehow manages to cram filler into filler.

They remembered to add the silly and charm into this movie which makes it instantly better than the first 2 (although the racism from the writers in the first half is shitty)

The second half of this is brilliant. Lelouch‘s spiral and the Lancelot v Order of Michael fight is probably the coolest sequence in the franchise but man does the first half suck…

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Akito Movie 3 is stupidity at its finest. The Akito sub-series is already filled to the brim with utterly ridiculous moments in the first two films alone, but this movie takes it up to endearing levels of stupidity, despite what it does to the series' canon and how it makes the whole geass stuff even more convoluted than ever before. People claim that this was the start of the fall of the series when, honestly, it was horrible to begin with. All of the same problems (except bad CGI because it's improved here) are on full display, like dumb character decisions, poor usage of Geass in terms of justifying it and how it works, edgy writing and MC, and bland…

the funniest thing about charles wiping lelouchs memory to make julius was that he forgot to wipe out the gay part and then sent him to france with his ex-boyfriend

Felt kind of like a filler episode. Character development is also feeling a little rushed.

This episode felt way too long despite being also being an hour. In fact, it felt like three. Part 1-Grannies, Part 2-Kingsley, and part 3-Shiang.
The entire beginning with the old ladies was good for character development, but really is a massive filler since it's half the movie.
Once Kingsley starts taking over, the plot starts moving again.
Then there's Shaing's ?rebellion? I'm not even sure what he was trying to do. The knightmare fight here suffers the same issues as before, and I'm finally certain that the jazzy trumpet is a horrible choice of music. Is this supposed to be a serious fight scene or a fun one?
Overall, this entry continues to prove it was a mistake to treat this as a movie series. But at least this entry keeps things lively.

A lot of the plot of this one seemed unnecessary or contrived, but at least we got a little more character development for the main cast. I'll admit, it's cool seeing Lelouch again, but his presence in Euro Britannia still doesn't make any sense. The whole last fight scene with Suzaku and the Order of Michael also made no sense. A lot of plot threads were introduced, so I hope they'll be able to wrap everything up in the last two OVAs.
